HERMAN CAIN IS..........ABC!!!

WHO IS HERMAN CAIN?

Awesome Oregon Weekend ~ Gathering Of The Eagles

http://www.gatheringoftheeagles.com/

This was the Awesome event that I and a whole bunch of other conservatives were blessed to attend.  Not only was the weather perfect here in the unpredictable pacific NW, and the location absolutely breathtaking, but EVERYONE from the parking attendants to the speakers and even the children of attendees (who, if they were anything like mine would have preferred to be doing something else) appeared to be genuinely enjoying themselves, yes that means I saw actual smiles (as opposed to virtual ones which can often leave one guessing if they are real or sarcastic) and as to the children's activities, our 4 year old son had to be dragged out of the bouncy house kicking and screaming so they could finally shut it down. Our 8 year old not only had the chance to bend Presidential Candidate Herman Cain's ear but he also excitedly found a whole new audience for his myriad of entertaining stories.
I always enjoy being around a large group of liberty loving conservatives, the air is thick with enthusiasm as well as a bit of cigar smoke (remember we LOVE freedom), the discussions are thoughtful and energetic and most importantly the people are authentic, salt of the earth, industrious and honest (especially the person who found my phone in the port-a-potty and turned it in).
So, I would really like to thank Ames and Dama Curtright for hosting Gathering of the Eagles, Master of Ceremonies Jeff Kropf, speakers Allen Alley, Anita MonCrief (newlywed and truly awesome gal pal), Dr. Art Robinson (definitely gonna give his campaign some volunteer love), Bill Post, Dr. Bob Basso/Thomas Pain (this man is a portrait of unwavering patriotism), Ruth Bendl, Holly Swanson, Lars Larson, Tim Barton, Victoria Taft, Greg Leo as well as many tireless coalition group representatives and most especially I would like to thank the totally incredible volunteers who helped make the event possible.
I was like a kid in a candy store, I didn't know where to head first.  There were booths with lots of info and cool stuff, delicious food and tasty treats and wonderful music by The Hanson Family singers (daddy Hanson has a depth defying bass voice), Brian Futch (the guy came all the way from Georgia, is the daddy of six, five of them girls AND he was polite enough not to fall asleep or feign food poisoning while my husband and I regaled him with stories of our own and no I did not make him listen to me sing even though he was sitting with his producer) and as we were heading out to our car we were serenaded by Two Sisters and a Mister, well, I got to hear them a little bit longer than my guys because I had to walk back to look for my phone.... again (I really need to find a better way to carry that thing).

p.s. hope to have some pics up soon (sure wish I would pay attention when my hubby tries to teach me computer stuff) but if you would like a sneak peak check out my Facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/girl-michal/116361425064841?sk=photos

Wow, it's been how long???

So here I am on Saturday (8/6/11) handing out my card with my blog info to people at an AWESOME event (more on that in a minute) embarrassingly admitting to them that I hadn't updated or worked on my blog for a little while. Now, when I've finally decide to do a little catch up I notice that I haven't posted since April!  Ok, so I will not win any awards for timeliness (do they hand out such awards?) but I will try and update a little more frequently if for no other reason than to be able to hand out my totally cool cards with my head held high.  So, thanks for hanging with me my loyal followers and I hope to add a few more to your number.
